Scum Villain's Self Saving System

My first danmei, I love it! I don't get why it's the least popular out of MXTX's books, but maybe that just speaks to how good the author's writing is. I especially love Shen Qingqiu, that being Shen Yaun (but I love Shen Jiu as well, just not as much) and how his mere presence improved the story and the lives of everyone around him, genuinely how can anyone be surprised that Luo Binghe ended up falling for him?

Shen Qingqiu is a reader of PIDW first, and a Peak Lord second, so it's really understandable for him to continue viewing the people around him as characters, despite that he never belittles them or acts condescending towards them. watching his journey in discovering that his actions do matter, that the people around him are, well, people and that the things he does affected them for the better (or worse), is an entertaining journey, and so is learning about the world around him with him. His dynamic with other characters that arent love insterests, are so interesting to read; every interaction with Chang Shinghua is hilarious, and I wanna see more, QPR Cumplane is real, Liu Qingge is interesting as well, it happens to be my second favourite ship besides Bingqiu, with Yue Qingyue...it's uncomfortable but in an intriguing way, a way only the man possessing a corpse could feel towards' this corpse's traitorous childhood friend.

I have so much, SO much more to say, but I don't know if I'll be able to convey it properly, I found that this video explains alot of what I wanna convey really well, and even adds on to it with more analysis that helps you understand the subtle things in the book alot better

This was also my first experience with an audiobook (I suspect many others did as well, considering the amount of Podfics this fandom has over on AO3), as I couldn't find anywhere to obtain a digital copy of the book online, and it wouldn't have been very expensive to ship a physical copy all the way to my country (and also possibly illegal? considering the local views on homosexuality), and honestly this made me realize that I get way more motivation to finish the book if it's being read to me, I still like reading stuff myself of course - which I'll probably try to do it with this book since the reader cut out some of the NSFW scenes - but this is a method of consumption I don't think I would've tried if not for this book, since I wouldn't have listened or read it at all if I didn't stumble on a reading of it on spotify one day.

To be honest, when I'm less busy, I'd like to make an SVSSS shrine, I don't know whether it should be Shen Qingqiu centric or BingQiu centric but it's added to the list of things I need to add to this site

I know it's popular, but it is FOR A GOOD REASON!! it's hilarious, the character dynamics are silly, the designs are very drawable, *slaps premise* you can extract as much angst or fluff from this bad boy, and when shit gets real the animation FUCKS

I love this series so much, it's even the first (of hopefully more) manga series I've (almost) fully collected! (im missing vol.5 and 13 hehe) that's why it's in both the book and show sections here!

I adore Anya, her actions are believable enough for a child, but not TOO realistic to the point of making her annoying (sorryyy buddy daddies), and she makes every scene she's in inherently funnier, she's also wayyy to smart for a five year old, if she were just a year older I assure you, Loid would have gotten 3 stellas in the first week

SPEAKING OF LOID, I think he's my favourite dad in all of fiction, the way he overthinks everything is hilarious (and relatable), and the way Anya and Yor's combined stupidity breaks his otherwise perfect stocism is just proof that they're the change he needs in his life hehe. It seems that Yor has finally fallen in love with him in the manga, so it's just a matter of time until the realization comes crashing down on him too (because honestly, who could be married to a woman like yor and NOT fall in love?)

The only thing I don't like about this show is the Arabic dub, it really doesn't matter since Arabic dubs usually aren't the best, and I either watch sub or Eng dub anyways, but this one REALLY sucks. they made Anya sound older than both of her parents?? for some reason?? I wish dubs for my language had a littleee more care put into them, tbh

Regardless, this is one of my favourite series by a longshot, any new season or manga volumes coming out, rest ASSURED that I will get my hands on them the second they are translated
